Hip Replacement

Underwent hip replacement surgery on Tuesday, November 19. Except for some excruciating pain with urination related to anesthesiology issues, all went well. Ambulated from one end of the hospital complex to the other twice the first day of the surgery, took care of toilet needs without assistance that day and evening, walked again the second day and also discharged that day. Able to get up in the night and go to the bathroom without awakening Sandi. Go each morning to mailbox and retrieve...

An overflow crowd at the Union County Heritage Museum welcomed Roy and me for a presentation of our joint effort, Old Testament Stories: What Do They Say Today?  and Roy’s book on Older Americans and the Economic Pie. Lunch was served followed by our presentation. Tupelo Attorney David Sparks receives a prestigious award

David Sparks went beyond the call of duty in helping Sandi resolve the estate of an elderly woman, Mary Bula. It had many twists and turns, the material for a good novel. He and Sandi were persistent and the estate was eventually settled. Today, he receives the 2013 Lawyer Citizenship Award from Guy Mitchell III, President of the Mississippi Bar Association.
